Having dedicated, uninterrupted time on my own to write is a wonderful thing, and I know I’m fortunate to be able to do that a lot. But a big part of being a writer, for me at least, is all about making connections beyond my cosy bubble — with readers and audiences, but also with other writers, theatremakers, artists, scientists, academics, individuals, institutions…

I’m always up for a chat about new projects and new partnerships, with people I know and with people I’m yet to meet. I’m even more up for it if I won’t be the person having to fundraise to make any of these exciting things happen.

Maybe you’ve read something I’ve written, or seen something I helped to make. Maybe you’ve got excited by my portfolio of previous work, or by the sound of some of the novels and projects I’m currently working on. Maybe you just really like the thought of connecting with someone who once held Grace Jones’s hand.
