I didn’t get a post ready for my usual Tuesday at 8.30am sharing, because I’ve been busy and because it’s been Easter and because the weather has been (mostly) good, and frankly, just because.

But I’m sneaking in an end-of-day post instead, in order to let you know about something I am immensely proud of…

The True Voyage Is Return anthology and podcast are now live!

The anthology lives at philipholyman.com/true-voyage-is-return where it can be easily viewed and downloaded. The podcast is embedded in the same place. It’s hosted with Acast, but by now is also findable and listenable on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and lots of other places besides. Wherever you get your podcasts, we should be there, too!

As you’ll see, each writer who spent a week with me at The Exchange has an episode dedicated entirely to them, and to them alone.  As you’ll also see, Episode 9 is my episode — not a structured interview, like everyone else’s, but a piecing together of voicenotes I was recording across the four months of writing my new novel, Obsolete Constellations. Episode 10 is the anthology compilation, featuring extracts from commissioned works and some of the public submissions — all read by local professional actors.

We’ve created transcripts for all ten episodes, and there’s also a Running Order for the anthology episode where you can see exactly which works appear at exactly which point in time!

It’s been a huge task for us (well, mainly for Gareth Nicholls, who’s produced, engineered and composed the whole podcast, single-handed!) and I really hope you’re as pleased with the results as I am. Gareth has done a wonderful job at condensing and curating more than 45 hours of raw recordings into episodes which celebrate the writers and their work, and which are full of personality and individuality.

I’ll be putting as much effort behind promoting the podcast and the anthology now as I possibly can, and I would be immensely grateful for any support you’re able to give us, too, in terms of steering your friends, families, fans and followers in the right direction. Every like, rating, listen, download, follow, share or subscribe makes a huge difference in helping other people to find out about what we’ve been doing over these last few months, and to bring all of these writers and their wonderful works to the wider attention they deserve.

Happy reading — and happy listening!
